SIDE EFFECTS:
A heavy moisturizer or a 100% natural face oil (recommended) is required while using this product.
- Your skin is going to look like it’s dry.
- Your skin might feel tight and itchy. What to do: add more moisturizer to your skin – preferably a heavy moisturizer.
- Your skin may look red – If your skin turns red, this is either because you leave the soap longer that the recommended time frame or you have a sensitive skin. We do not recommend this soap on individuals with sensitive skin.
- If you have a combination skin type and experience redness while using the kojic soap, then please use the soap three times a week for no more than 15 seconds until you build tolerance to kojic acid.
- Burning/tingling sensation – this is normal for the first week of use, however, you need to temporarily use this soap every 3 days until your skin gets used to the kojic acid. Also, do not leave the soap on for more than 15 seconds. If burning sensation persists, discontinue use permanently.
- Breakout – breaking out the first couple of days while using the product is normal. Breaking out or getting pimples is more than likely going to happen especially if you have blackheads, whiteheads or if you’re acne-prone.
DIRECTIONS:
PLEASE READ ENTIRELY BEFORE USING THIS KOJIC SOAP
First Step:
****Always remove makeup first using a gentle facial cleanser prior to using this soap. ****
Wet skin with warm water and gently massage soap on the skin for no more than 15 seconds on your first week of use.
DO NOT RUB.
Avoid getting into eyes, nose or mouth.
Use this soap only once a day (preferably at night) for the first week.
Wash thoroughly with cold water.
NOTE: After the first week, you can use the soap twice a day for no more than 30 seconds.
Second Step:
Apply the Tone Perfecting Crème (for face) or Tone Perfecting Lotion (body) or any heavy moisturizer after washing your face with the kojic soap.
NOTE:
It is required to use a moisturizer after using the soap.
If you do not use a moisturizer after using the kojic acid soap, your skin may look and feel dry, feel itchy and tight – all because of its peeling effect.
Do not stay under the sun while using this product.
Storage:
Put inside a plastic bag and keep away from the sun and the shower.
Store in a cool, dry place.

This is the only soap I use to correct my skin. I love it! It does exactly what it claims and no, I was not paid to write this review, although I wish I was, lol. With consistent use (notice I said consistent), gradually, your skin will lighten. My friends and family would even ask me what was I doing to my skin.
Left picture is current, right picture is when I used the soap about 3 years ago. Key factors: stay out of the sun, I would use an umbrella if I had to go out. Use SUNSCREEN. I cannot stress this enough SPF 30 is good (I went to school for skincare). I would also bathe with exfoliating gloves to open my pores for maximum penetration. These are the steps I took and it worked for me.

I adore this! It the best thing I have purchased for my skin in a very long time. Going to stock pile as import fees to UK is criminal.
I use this on my entire body (not the private area), as using an exfoliating glove or shower brush leaves my skin irritated and hyperpigmentated. Using this soap, made my skin feel instantly soft. After day 2 of use I could not stop stroking my own skin.
Time/lightening:
2 weeks on, all my staining from years of spots coming and going, scabs and sun affected areas have really lightened and smoothed out bringing back my bright youthful skin - on my face.
My upper body has reacted at the same speed as my face, my legs however, which have suffered A LOT more sun damage (from ignorance that sun cannot damage already melanated skin and not using sunblock) as well is irritation from shaving and waxing is slow progress but I am definitely seeing results there too.
The description says it is a slow process, I agree but with a good regimen, I saw very fast results and I hope to maintain them.
Potency:
One of the things I really like about this product is that it doesn't lighten you beyond your natural complexion. In my own words, it helps you to reclaim your real you.
As an added benefit this also faded the marks left behind on my hands caused by allergic eczema / contact dermatitis. As with the rest of my body, my hands are smooth and my tone is recocering.
From the before and after photo you can see how the affect of the soap on those tiny bumps on the face. I personally have also noticed less break outs on my face and chest. This has also helped my tummy hyperpigmentation after pregnancy, so makes my stretch marks camouglage well into my skin.
Shipping:
The import fees into the UK is unfortunate, but cannot be helped. This product is so helpful for back and chest acne that I would gladly pay any amount of import fees (within reason of course!).

Definitely a fantastic product. My skin is very smooth, dark spots are fading, and my skin tone is evening. The only thing I will warn is to really only use this on spots or areas that are darker and not as a regular soap. The directions of course say not to use all over, but I sometimes try to go quick in the shower, but I noticed my skin had lightened and I was not pleased with that (because due to COVID-19, I don't go outside much). So if you are like me and are in love with your darker complexion, use only on darkest areas to blend skin tone and not all over as a regular soap. You have been warned!

Hi MarieFrance, no I did not wear flip flops and I’m working from home, so I don’t leave home much. And when I do, I wear sunscreen.
My underarms and knees do not get exposed to the sun at all either as I wear long sleeve tops and pants. I used the soap on these areas too and there have been no difference at all either.

Photo on the left was taken on the 3rd week of use, photo on the right was taken today after 8 weeks of use. According to the website, it takes 8 weeks for maximum strength, but unfortunately I have yet to see any difference at all. Very disappointed! I used it religiously. Twice a day, wore sunscreen, applied ample amount of body lotion, used konjac sponge to exfoliate. Did everything I could and yet.. zero difference after 8 long weeks. From the collage above, it actually seems like my feet became darker. Too sad to take pictures of the rest of my dark joints since they have not gotten any lighter. Hope someone would come to my rescue and help me figure this out. I committed myself by purchasing a ton of bar soaps here but now I’m second guessing if it will ever work in lightening my dark areas at all.

Starting using this soap on Sep 1. It’s exactly 3 weeks now; I noticed some micro-peeling on my skin. I have medium brown skin, with really really dark joints (underarms, knee caps, knuckles, toes, inner thighs, bum). They are at least 10-15 darker than the rest of my body, and have been that way for as long as I can remember :( I got to know about MF online and ordered the soap 3 weeks ago. Haven’t really noticed any difference yet so far, the photo is of my super dark knee cap. But I will be using this soap continuously and really hope to see a difference soon. I actually don’t even use this everyday but it’s working faster than I expected. My process however is different than what was suggested. I followed a YouTuber who has used the product before. I wet my skin with warm to hot water to open up my pores. I then wet the bar of soap and rub it on my more melanated areas. Next, I scrub it with a soft bristled brush meant for skin. By the time I am done scrubbing an ample amount, I rinse with water then wash the rest of my body with my regular body wash. These are my results after 3 weeks without using it every single day. I would say I use it about 4-5 times a week. I am more than ecstatic with my results and will be ordering more soon!

As you can see, I had an acne scar on my cheek. I definitely pick at them, and my skin doesn’t like that. On its own, they usually take months to go away. I used this soap on my face in the shower for literally two weeks and the mark is GONE. I haven’t been able to use any of my normal skincare since the pandemic occurred, but this was all I needed to clear up my skin. That’s definitely a plus!! One bar of soap replaced my acne treatments, face cleanser, and body wash. I use it all over my body and think it’s GREAT. It does dry your skin out, so make sure to moisturize. A VERY small price to pay for clear skin all over. I’ve used it on my inner thighs and it’s been effective, but not as effective as it is on my face. This is probably because the discolouration is worse on my thighs. I’m planning on purchasing the toning cream or lotion to see if that will help even out my thighs in addition to the soap. If you buy anything from here, GET THE SOAP. Amazing! The customer service is also great. If you have a problem, they’re quick to reply and solve it for you. <3

I’ve been a loyal customer to Marie france. I especially LOVE the Kojic soap. It has changed my life. In the beginning of the year, I had a very bad breakout from an allergic reaction to a clay face mask that I used. It really knocked my confidence. I would always hide behind makeup because of how embarrassed I was at my skin. I was always using the Kojic soap, but not consistently. After my breakout, I started using the soap consistently, and started seeing results within a week. The scars began fading very quickly. Within 3 months, my skin is pretty much flawless!

I’ve tried other brands but always come back to this one and I even have my friends trying it too! It leaves your skin super dry which is why I don’t use it everyday but I use bio oil or Shea butter to moisturize so it’s not a huge problem for me. This is the only soap I use to correct my skin. I love it! It does exactly what it claims and no, I was not paid to write this review, although I wish I was, lol. With consistent use (notice I said consistent), gradually, your skin will lighten. My friends and family would even ask me what was I doing to my skin.
Left picture is current, right picture is when I used the soap about 3 years ago. Key factors: stay out of the sun, I would use an umbrella if I had to go out. Use SUNSCREEN. I cannot stress this enough SPF 30 is good (I went to school for skincare). I would also bathe with exfoliating gloves to open my pores for maximum penetration. These are the steps I took and it worked for me.

I adore this! It the best thing I have purchased for my skin in a very long time. Going to stock pile as import fees to UK is criminal.
I use this on my entire body (not the private area), as using an exfoliating glove or shower brush leaves my skin irritated and hyperpigmentated. Using this soap, made my skin feel instantly soft. After day 2 of use I could not stop stroking my own skin.
Time/lightening:
2 weeks on, all my staining from years of spots coming and going, scabs and sun affected areas have really lightened and smoothed out bringing back my bright youthful skin - on my face.
My upper body has reacted at the same speed as my face, my legs however, which have suffered A LOT more sun damage (from ignorance that sun cannot damage already melanated skin and not using sunblock) as well is irritation from shaving and waxing is slow progress but I am definitely seeing results there too.
The description says it is a slow process, I agree but with a good regimen, I saw very fast results and I hope to maintain them.
Potency:
One of the things I really like about this product is that it doesn't lighten you beyond your natural complexion. In my own words, it helps you to reclaim your real you.
As an added benefit this also faded the marks left behind on my hands caused by allergic eczema / contact dermatitis. As with the rest of my body, my hands are smooth and my tone is recocering.
From the before and after photo you can see how the affect of the soap on those tiny bumps on the face. I personally have also noticed less break outs on my face and chest. This has also helped my tummy hyperpigmentation after pregnancy, so makes my stretch marks camouglage well into my skin.
Shipping:
The import fees into the UK is unfortunate, but cannot be helped. This product is so helpful for back and chest acne that I would gladly pay any amount of import fees (within reason of course!).
Conclusion:
This product helps me to feel every bit amazing about my skin again!
I'm honestly in love with this soap and cannot wait to get more.

Definitely a fantastic product. My skin is very smooth, dark spots are fading, and my skin tone is evening. The only thing I will warn is to really only use this on spots or areas that are darker and not as a regular soap. The directions of course say not to use all over, but I sometimes try to go quick in the shower, but I noticed my skin had lightened and I was not pleased with that (because due to COVID-19, I don't go outside much). So if you are like me and are in love with your darker complexion, use only on darkest areas to blend skin tone and not all over as a regular soap. You have been warned!

I have been using the pure kojic acid soap maximum strength for about a year now and I love it! Pure Kojic Acid Soap (Maximum Strength) is a great product! I use it primariy on my face and neck. It has helped even out my skin tone and clear up breakouts. After I wash my face, I create a lather and leave it on my face for a bit before rinsing it off. I would purchase this soap again.

Hi MarieFrance, no I did not wear flip flops and I’m working from home, so I don’t leave home much. And when I do, I wear sunscreen.
My underarms and knees do not get exposed to the sun at all either as I wear long sleeve tops and pants. I used the soap on these areas too and there have been no difference at all either.

8 weeks since I started using the MF soap. No difference at all.. dark toes are still dark. Same for my dark knees and dark joints. I diligently used it twice a day everyday for 8 weeks, wore sunscreen and body lotion, used konjac sponge. Yet.. very disappointed with the results. Sorry. I really want to adore this product but I bought it for chronically dark knees and after weeks and weeks...Nada. Zero difference. I will continue to use it until it’s gone but I am quite sure, like everything else, it will continue to do nothing. Nothing except charge me $15 for a bar of soap. Photo on the left was taken on the 3rd week of use, photo on the right was taken today after 8 weeks of use. According to the website, it takes 8 weeks for maximum strength, but unfortunately I have yet to see any difference at all. Very disappointed! I used it religiously. Twice a day, wore sunscreen, applied ample amount of body lotion, used konjac sponge to exfoliate. Did everything I could and yet.. zero difference after 8 long weeks. From the collage above, it actually seems like my feet became darker. Too sad to take pictures of the rest of my dark joints since they have not gotten any lighter. Hope someone would come to my rescue and help me figure this out. I committed myself by purchasing a ton of bar soaps here but now I’m second guessing if it will ever work in lightening my dark areas at all.

Starting using this soap on Sep 1. It’s exactly 3 weeks now; I noticed some micro-peeling on my skin. I have medium brown skin, with really really dark joints (underarms, knee caps, knuckles, toes, inner thighs, bum). They are at least 10-15 darker than the rest of my body, and have been that way for as long as I can remember :( I got to know about MF online and ordered the soap 3 weeks ago. Haven’t really noticed any difference yet so far, the photo is of my super dark knee cap. But I will be using this soap continuously and really hope to see a difference soon. Will be ordering more bars and my first bar is running low. Will definitely review again if I see my super dark area lightening :) Rosey has been very friendly too. Customer service is great!

After just 14 days I can tell Its working for my dark spots, even my skin tone/radiance, its definitely lighter. It does not melt easily like the others that I’ve tried, so a bar would last 3-4 weeks. Its very drying though resulting to itchiness especially at night so I need to use a very hydrating skin balm or lotion to help
ease. Not a deal breaker as I see the efficacy. I’d continue for sure.

I actually don’t even use this everyday but it’s working faster than I expected. My process however is different than what was suggested. I followed a YouTuber who has used the product before. I wet my skin with warm to hot water to open up my pores. I then wet the bar of soap and rub it on my more melanated areas. Next, I scrub it with a soft bristled brush meant for skin. By the time I am done scrubbing an ample amount, I rinse with water then wash the rest of my body with my regular body wash. These are my results after 3 weeks without using it every single day. I would say I use it about 4-5 times a week. I am more than ecstatic with my results and will be ordering more soon!

As you can see, I had an acne scar on my cheek. I definitely pick at them, and my skin doesn’t like that. On its own, they usually take months to go away. I used this soap on my face in the shower for literally two weeks and the mark is GONE. I haven’t been able to use any of my normal skincare since the pandemic occurred, but this was all I needed to clear up my skin. That’s definitely a plus!! One bar of soap replaced my acne treatments, face cleanser, and body wash. I use it all over my body and think it’s GREAT. It does dry your skin out, so make sure to moisturize. A VERY small price to pay for clear skin all over. I’ve used it on my inner thighs and it’s been effective, but not as effective as it is on my face. This is probably because the discolouration is worse on my thighs. I’m planning on purchasing the toning cream or lotion to see if that will help even out my thighs in addition to the soap. If you buy anything from here, GET THE SOAP. Amazing! The customer service is also great. If you have a problem, they’re quick to reply and solve it for you. <3

I’ve been a loyal customer to Marie france. I especially LOVE the Kojic soap. It has changed my life. In the beginning of the year, I had a very bad breakout from an allergic reaction to a clay face mask that I used. It really knocked my confidence. I would always hide behind makeup because of how embarrassed I was at my skin. I was always using the Kojic soap, but not consistently. After my breakout, I started using the soap consistently, and started seeing results within a week. The scars began fading very quickly. Within 3 months, my skin is pretty much flawless!

I had terrible acne breakout when I relocated to the US for graduate studies in the fall of 2019 and this left me with lots of dark spots on my face. I have been using this soap for several years now and it never disappoints. My skin did have to build an endurance to the soap. At first, I was barely able to keep it on a few minutes. Now I can easily lather it on for a good 5 minutes before rinsing. I love this soap! I use it about 3-4 times a week and leave it on for max 5 minutes and follow up with the mask. I see results in about two weeks. I’ve tried other brands but always come back to this one and I even have my friends trying it too! It leaves your skin super dry which is why I don’t use it everyday but I use bio oil or Shea butter to moisturize so it’s not a huge problem for me. I highly recommend trying the soap, scrub, or cream if this is your first time using Marie France products. Use consistently and be patient with results and you’ll see a difference in your problem areas.
